Combine all in a shaker. Shake with ice. Strain. Sip. Listen.
How it works
Piano Ivre is a synesthetic machine inspired by Boris Vian's pianocktail. It listens to solo piano music, captures the mood of the piece, and transforms it into a cocktail recipe — conveying through taste what the music expresses through sound.
To use it, pick one of the following and press Taste:
Record > Microphone — record live piano in the room, or piano played by another device nearby
Record > Computer audio — capture audio from another browser tab (e.g. YouTube, Spotify web). Your browser will ask you to pick the tab to capture.
Record — use your microphone to record live piano, or piano played by another device nearby (recording audio from this device is not supported on mobile)
Link — paste a YouTube URL of a piano performance
Upload — drop an MP3 or MIDI file
Piano Ivre is designed to work with piano solo only.
Be patient — the system runs on a single CPU, so it may take up to 4 minutes per piece.
